Newroads now offers a nationwide roaming feature for our dial-up Internet users who travel and need to connect to the Newroads network while outside of our local Dial-up access areas. This roaming feature utilizes a metered-access number and is billed on a usage basis only. The cost of the service is $0.12 per minute and is billed in full-minute increments. There is no monthly fee or any need to sign-up for the Dial-up access roaming service.
How to get connected to Newroads Dial-up access Roaming Service Using the roaming feature is really quite easy. Click on the same icon in which you usually do to connect to Newroads from your home or office. You should see a box that says " Connect to Newroads Telecom" as well as a drop down box of dial-up numbers you can choose to access the Newroads network. The Newroads customer can simply erase the existing dial-up number and modify the number to reflect the new roaming access number.

You can make a decision based on the length of time away from your local area dial-up area or the frequency you will be using the roaming service while out of town. How will I get billed for this service?All / any usage of the "Dial-up Access Roaming" number will show up on your regular Newroads monthly billing statement. You will notice a summary of charges line that will depict TOLL DIAL-UP CHARGES. The summary will offer a simple detail of the total number of minutes used as well as all charges associated with the usage for the billing month.
Will my Newroads benefit features work when Roaming?Yes, Newroads user account features such as Newroads family friendly web-content filtering and email accounts, will work the same as when dialing your local access dial-up number.
How will the Roaming feature affect my "Newroads Metered Access" service package? Customers utilizing one of Newroads metered styled service packages such as our "Light User" or "Standard Metered service package" will be billed separately when dialing the nationwide roaming access number. Customers will be charged for their time online per their service package as well as the additional $0.12 per minute roaming service charge.
When does billing for this service begin?Billing begins once the USER account is authenticated. There are no charges when a customer fails to login due to a bad USERID or password. Newroads Telecom can not guarantee the quality of the lines from which the customer is accessing Newroads, so disconnects or slow speeds due to problems in a Hotel / Motel phone line from which the Customer is using, are not subject to credits. If the customer is calling from a Hotel or Motel, then additional Hotel / Motel charges may be show up on your accommodations bill.
When I dial the Roaming access number, where does it actually terminate? The nationwide Roaming access number actually terminates at Newroads facilities in Fort Smith AR. any network problems experienced with the Fort Smith (POP) local access number (479-494-7007) will also be affect our Nationwide Roaming number.
Don't forget to change your number back when you return home!
Since the Nationwide Roaming access number will basically work from anywhere in the US & Canada, Newroads customers will need to remember to
"change back" to their frequently used local access number when they return back to their hometown or they will continue to be billed the Roaming usage charges.
