Can I keep my same telephone number if I switch to Newroads? - Yes.  When the FCC allowed local competition, it insisted on customers being able to keep their telephone number when they switched to new telephone providers. This is call Local Number Portability.  Phone companies also collect a fee from customers to pass on to the national organization responsible for administering the process.  You may see this fee listed as  LNP charge.

Do all 20 free features come active? - No.  Some features require special provisioning and information, so if it is not request, the feature is not provision.  In Oklahoma, only Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Waiting ID, and Anonymous Call Rejection are the default active features.  The other features can be activated upon request.  Some may require an additional activation fee, but the monthly fee is free. 

How long does it take to convert my telephone line? - Please allow 5-7 days.

Will I be without service during my conversion? - You may temporarily lose dialtone when converting your service, although, most of the time it is not noticable.

How do I use my features? - Most of the features and their instructions are listed in the front of your local phone book.  You may also use our guide available in our Service Resource area.

When some people try to call me, they get a "Your number is being blocked" recording. -  One of the features that comes with Newroads Service is Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR).  ACR restricts people from calling your number if the caller is blocking their Caller ID information.  This may be businesses, residential lines, or cell phones.  To turn this feature off, simple dial *87 from your phone.
