Dialup FAQ's
Q: I was told I could have a web page when I signed up for your internet service. I have never had one and don't even know how to make one.
Do you have any suggestions or information you could give me on this?
A: We do not have a how-to guide on how to create a web page, but there are
a number of web sites with information and tutorials on this subject.
Here are some links to a few of them:
http://www.htmlhelp.com/
http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/
http://www.make-a-web-site.com/
Once you have created a web site, to publish it to your web space, you
will need to use a FTP program (such as WS_FTP or CuteFTP which you can
download from www.download.com for free). To setup the FTP program to
upload your files for your web site, you will need the following
information:
FTP server or hostname - home.mynewroads.com
Username - username@mynewroads.com
Password - your password
Once you have uploaded your web page, you can use the following URL to
view it:
http://home.mynewroads.com/~"username"
Q: Each time we try to open an attachment, it has a message "OE has removed unsafe attachment." How do we fix this?
A: You can fix this by opening Outlook Express then clicking on TOOLS then
OPTIONS then on the SECURITY tab. Then there should be a box that you can
uncheck that says do not allow attachments to be save or opened. That
should fix the problem.
Q: How do I disable call waiting on my phone when i am on the internet?
A: You can fix this by adding *70, in from of your access number. This will disable Call Waiting only while you are on the Internet. Most dialers also have a DISABLE CALL WAITING option which add the *70, to your dial number for you.
