A DMARC, or NID (Network Interface Device) is where we provide Telephone service. Newroads is responsible to provide working service to this box, not inside the house. Newroads can provide support for Inside Wiring Needs but additional charges may apply.

You can open the box using a screwdriver. While phone boxes are safe, they should not be opened during electrical storms, or when electrical lines are down.

Opening your box will show where your Inside Wiring Connects to the Telephone Network Equipment.

By moving the wires, a customer can make telephone jacks inside their house active. If the inside wiring is installed on LINE 1, then it is the LINE 1 number. If the wires are moved to LINE 2, then it becomes the LINE 2 number. Newly installed phone lines typically do not work because the wires are wired on the wrong plug. You can plug a phone into the green jack to see if a telephone number is working. If it is working at the jack in the DMARC, the line is installed and working correctly.
