LNP
Local Number Portability Charge - This is a fee that the FCC allows local phone companies to charge to recover certain costs of providing residential and business telephone customers with the ability to retain, at the same location, their existing local telephone numbers when switching from one local telephone service provider to another.
FUS

PRORATES
Your first bill for a Newroads Service should contain a pro-rate amount. This is the billing for the partial month of service, prior to the the first month's billing. Pro rated amounts can vary depending on when the service went active in relation to the normal billing date. Because of pro-rate amounts, your first bill will be higher than following months.
Example of billing statement for a new service:
Service established on July 9th.
Pro-rated charge for the period of July 9th through July 20th. - 12 extra billing days
Full-month service charge for July 21st through August 20th. - 1 normal billing month.
Installation / Setup / Deposit fees, if applicable.
Total account balance will be due by August 10th.
The Balance Due will be for 1 month + 12 days service.
The next billing statement will then be for service from August 21st - September 20th, which is 1 normal billing month without prorates, and will be due by September 10th.
FREE MINUTES
Free minutes of long distance usage are labeled on your bill if the entire call was applied to your free minutes. If the long distance call uses a combination of free minutes and billable minutes, then the adjusted billable charge will be shown. For example, a 62 minute call, may use 60 free minutes and then 2 billable minutes. Therefore, the call will show as a 62 minute call that costs $.14 (7¢ per minute for the 2 billable minutes), instead of $4.34. If you do not see the full amount of your free minutes labeled as FREE, look for a call that could be using a combination of free and billable minutes.
