Net 1, Muskogee based Internet provider Merges with Newroads Telecom
On June 1st, 2002, Net 1 the Muskogee based Internet service provider (ISP) agreed to merge with Fort Smith’s Newroads Telecom. The result of the merger will provide Net 1 customers a host of additional service benefits at no additional costs, as well as, provide the local community and surrounding areas with an excellent alternative to Southwestern Bell and any other Internet providers currently servicing the area. Newroads is a regional, full service communications provider that offers a wide variety of Internet services, including local dial-up access and high-speed Internet services as well as Telco and Long Distance services to customers in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Newroads operates one of the regions largest high-speed wireless Internet networks, a service Newroads claims it may consider implementing in Muskogee sometime in the near future.
